How did I get into NeurOptimal Neurofeedback?

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

This is a common question which I am asked.

I have owned Thrive Business Centre in the southeast of Calgary since 2011, and I lease out offices to other small businesses and entrepreneurs.

What does owning a business centre have to do with NeurOptimal you ask?

One of my past tenants is a nurse and offered NeurOptimal to her clients. I started seeing peoples’ lives being transformed.

While I saw transformation, I still did not understand what NeurOptimal was or how it worked. My husband who is a very logical thinker and wants to fully understand something before he does something asked A LOT of questions. He researched online about NeurOptimal and talked to his psychologist daughters. Both daughters had learned about NeurOptimal Neurofeedback in university and one daughter even used NeurOptimal Neurofeedback in her therapy sessions with children. Still not fully understanding how a computer program, some sensors and some music could be beneficial… he decided to have an open mind and just try it.

My husband had suffered years of sleeplessness. Even with prescription sleeping pills, which were highly addictive, he was still only getting a couple of hours of sleep a night. After one session of NeurOptimal he was off his sleeping pills and sleeping an average of six hours a night (we do not recommend discontinuing medications without speaking with your doctor first). For him, this was all the evidence he needed to realize just how transforming NeurOptimal can be! He continued having sessions and began to see that he was thinking clearer, more focused, and more creative in his work.

Seeing firsthand the improvements in my husband made me a believer. At that time, I was having a difficult time having conversations with my daughter. Both of us were easily irritated and conversations usually ended with us butting heads. My daughter and I started NeurOptimal sessions and soon we were able to have good conversations and were able to listen and respond without becoming defensive.

Time pasted, the nurse moved out and life continued, but so did conversations about how transforming NeurOptimal was for us and how wonderful it would be to be able to offer NeurOptimal to others and to see other lives be transformed.

I have always had a heart for people and have cared for people in some capacity through the years. Becoming a NeurOptimal Trainer was just an extension of caring for others and is something which I am extremely excited to share!

No matter where you are in life, there is no better time to start training your brain then now!

Hope to see you soon.

Denise
