Depression and NeurOptimal

Depression can take its toll on our minds and bodies and cause us to feel overwhelmed or ‘stuck’. When we feel this way, it is hard to see a way out.

Depression can include overwhelming sadness, grief, emptiness, or hopelessness. You may feel tired and have trouble sleeping. Other symptoms may include irritability, anger, and loss of interest in things that used to bring pleasure. Depression can cause physical symptoms such as headaches, chronic body aches, and pain that may not respond to medication. People with depression may have trouble maintaining a normal work schedule or fulfilling social obligations. This could be due to symptoms such as an inability to concentrate, memory problems, and difficulty making decisions.

There is good news for people who suffer with the symptoms of depression! NeurOptimal® neurofeedback restores proper function, allowing you to overcome obstacles that previously seemed impossible.

NeurOptimal neurofeedback brain training software has been proven to help your brain function more efficiently, comfortably, and effectively. With increased flexibility and resilience, you are better equipped to deal with obstacles and problems that come in the way of living life to the fullest. The challenges you face will become more manageable, and your ability to problem solve will increase.

The NeurOptimal software was created by a pair of psychologists; on the premise that when you give the brain good information at precisely the right millisecond, your brain would use that data to optimize its functioning.

NeurOptimal neurofeedback uses EEG type sensors to track millisecond-by-millisecond changes in electrical activity in your brain. The software takes 256 data points per second looking for the mathematics of state change. When it detects the brain is changing or shifting, it interrupts music that the client is listening to. That interruption serves as feedback for the brain, cuing it to notice what function it is performing. Like presenting a mirror, the brain will “see” its own functioning and automatically correct habits that are inefficient.

With NeurOptimal neurofeedback over time, symptoms start to fade. The goal is that the brain learns to use the present moment to decide what to do next, not habitual patterns. Research shows that your brain ‘knows best’ and therefore NeurOptimal brain training does not force or push your brain to accept the information. Neurofeedback provides your brain with the information it needs to correct itself and function at its most optimal self. NeurOptimal simply enables your own brains natural process of self-correction. Clients shift from being anxious, depressed, fixating on worries, unable to focus and having poor sleep, to being able to access calm, focus, hope, and clarity.

NeurOptimal is non-invasive and allows the client to sit quietly and hopefully just relax. If you are looking for an alternative to medication or traditional counselling, NeurOptimal might be just right for you. NeurOptimal neurofeedback may also be used to enhance your traditional counselling sessions and help you to move forward more efficiently and quickly.

I hope to see you soon!

Denise
